Sandra Antunes Ramos: Solo Show

On the second solo show of her career, artist Sandra Antunes Ramos presents at Galeria Millan, for groups of new works, distributed between the atrium, the main room and the corridor of the gallery. Ramos presents new serires of drawings, collages and also sculptures – kind of “tridimensional drawings”, jumping from the paper and acquiring their own volume and geography -, made of brass and automotive painting.

With approximately 70 new pieces, the exhibition, named after the artist, is an evolution of the thorough and daily work Sandra has been developing for some years now. The choice for colored pencil and pen – metallized or hydrographic – as her main tools, besides the practice of collage, has a reason: “While the brush has the scale of a human arm, of our body, the pencil comes from the scale of the hand. And the concept of all my work comes from this fragile scale, sutil and detailed, which allows impulsivity”, explains the artist.

The consequence of this practice are four new series of small scaled works (the largest of them have 28 x 35,5 cm), obsessive and delicate at the same time.
