The Uterus of the World

The exhibition consists of about 250 works of MAM‘s collection selected by the curator, writer and art critic Veronica Stigger. Among the works are installations, photographs, sculptures, paintings, prints and drawings made by more than 90 contemporary artists who show in their work a female body “as a place of explosion of suppressed and repressed, what does not conform to standards gestural and behavioral prevailing in Western culture, or, in other words, a haggard and metamorphic impulse; a body that explodes if disorganizes if bisects turns”, says the curator.
