Thiago Honório: Titles

Titles is the result of Thiago Honório’s (b. 1979, Carmo do Paranaíba, Brazil) artistic residency at Paço das Artes, in the second edition of the project launched in 2014.

Titles comprises 190 academic works in which the artist participated somehow, be it as dissertation advisor or as member of thesis advisory committees, in different research and educational institutions between 2006 and 2015. The papers includes Term Papers, Interdisciplinary Graduate Papers, Educational Intervention Papers, Monographs for Lato Sensu Specialization, Masters Qualification Reports, Masters Dissertations and Doctorate Thesis.

In the show, these papers are attaches to one another and drilled, having a circular slit with 8 cm in diameter from one point to the other. Together, they create a large body that resembles a skyline. Thus, Honório aims to problematize issues like the sharing of knowledge, through his own experience both as artist as educator.

The residence was accompanied by the art critics Galciani Neves, Marcos Moraes and Nancy Betts.
