Nivola vis-à-vis

The Museo Nivola’s 2026 programme, vis-à-vis, explores Costantino Nivola’s artistic practice through a series of dialogues with key figures of post-war art, highlighting affinities, shared research, and experimental approaches. Curated by Chiara Gatti, the programme unfolds across three chapters that place Nivola’s work in conversation with artists who shaped the cultural landscape of his time.

Opening the programme, “ROOMS. Nivola, Colombo and the Space Around Us” examines the relationship between sculpture, architecture, and perception through immersive environments inspired by Nivola’s Dream Room and Gianni Colombo’s Elastic Space. In autumn, “Fruitful Relationships” focuses on Ruth Guggenheim’s sculptural jewellery and presents a dialogue between Nivola, Bruno Munari, and Regina, exploring themes including experimentation, design, education, and the interaction between art and space. The final chapter, “Correspondences”, reimagines the museum’s permanent collection, revealing lesser-known works, photographs, and archival materials while creating new connections within Nivola’s oeuvre.

The programme is complemented by collateral events, including a tribute to Grazia Deledda and a participatory project by Giammarco Cugusi, reinforcing the museum’s commitment to linking historical research with contemporary artistic practice and community engagement.
