aaajiao(Xu Wenkai) is a media artist and a media and internet activist, he created his new work <org.a> by visualizing Chinese mainstream news portals wireframe from 1999 to 2016.

This work is expressed as a digital landscape of banners that give physical form to the works abstract description. Ultimately this work expresses objection to the consumption of information occurring in todays ‘digital world’, a form of ‘cheap and useless’ consumption that does not create anything meaningful.

aaajiao makes data structure into changing comparative digital forms or ‘banners’ to investigate whether people change through consuming and digesting information in this age where information data and daily life are binding ever more closely.

The title of this work <org.a> like a code name of an organization or operation, sounds like a code command, concealing its double intent. We welcome <org.a>’s first occupation of REFORMERart city public art space on Hunan Road.
