The Artist is Present

Curated by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, in collaboration with the creative director of Gucci Alessandro Michele, the exhibition at Yuz Museum Shanghai is inspired to the celebrated performance that Marina Abramović held at the MoMA in New York in 2010. It explores the way in which, through repetition, we can arrive at originality, and how the originals themselves can be preserved through copies, investigating the concepts of imitation, intention and authorship.
