Zhou Tiehai: Will / We Must

“Will / We Must” is a 35mm black and white silent video filmed in 1996-1997 conveying Tiehai‘s opinions and feelings on Chinese contemporary art as an insider and observer.
Several years later, Tiehai created 14 airbrush paintings on cheap materials (old newspapers, non woven-fabrics etc) transferring the scenes of the video into multicolor paintings that show more vitality than the black and white video created in 1996.
