Construction Site 2016: Delia & Milenko Prvacki

A collaborative effort between artists Milenko Prvacki and Delia Prvacki, this installation is a dressed-up stage created in the styles of both artists. Inspired by the landscape of change in Singapore’s geographical and economic development over the past five decades, Delia and Milenko use a wide array of contrasting and complementary construction materials to create a metaphorical theatre of an island that has been through rapid changes, akin to that of a colourful stage production. Situated within the heart of a performing arts centre, it is an allegorical representation of life in a fast-developing country, where people must find a balance between preserving natural surroundings and the needs of urban living; it is where life is theatre and theatre mimics life.
