Entang Wiharso: Hybrid Brain

Hybrid Brain is the solo exhibition dedicated to the Indonesian artist Entang Wiharso, known for its provocative works loaded with bold visuals and distinctive imageries.

The solo show investigates the topics of identity, belonging, and otherness in the contemporary society, characterised by mobility and integration issues. The artist’s life experience, divided between two different countries, namely Indonesia and US, has become part of his creative production, which reflects this dichotomy of cultures. Hybrid Brain showcases Entang Wiharso’s newest body of works, paintings on canvas which transform the usual elements of landscape format according to the artist’s emotions and the chosen media.

The exhibition opens with a performance by Entang Wiharso titled Hibernation: Ground Zero, which consists in the creation of a participatory artwork.
