Infinite Beauty

Maya Gallery presents a solo exhibition by internationally recognised Indonesian artist Wayan Gede Susana. Entitled “Infinite Beauty”, the exhibition opens on 11th November at Maya Gallery, featuring recent abstract paintings using acrylic on canvas. Infinite Beauty traces Wayan Gede Susana’s artistic and spiritual journey. Most of the works in the exhibition are inspired by the beauty of the island paradise of Bali, where the artist was born and grew up. Expressing this love for his hometown on the canvas, he often breaks out in energetic warm hues of red and gold, and in some works winding down in layers of white. Using acrylic paint in deep layers that has come to signify Susana’s work, one can sense a touch of Russian-American painter abstract Mark Rothko’s colour explorations, but mixed with subtlety and undeniable serenity.

Susana has exhibited in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the United States, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland. Widely accepted as attractive accents and suitable interior elements by interior designers, architects and collectors, his paintings have adorned the walls of various hotel establishments such as Novotel Kuala Lumpur and luxury homes in Tropicana Indah Resort and Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They can also be found in private collections in Asia, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Denmark and many other European countries, as well as in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
