Consuelo/Soma
The Krone Couronne presents two exhibitions in its “frontroom” and “backroom” by artists Guadalupe Ruiz and Tobias Maria Koch.
FRONTROOM
Consuelo: Guadalupe Ruiz
“Consuelo”, Guadalupe Ruiz’s exhibition, stems from her new publication “El libro ilustrado – The Picture Book”, which captures memories of her house and explores themes such as home as a setting, photography as a measure of time, and embroidery as both a motif and a means of transmission. The artist brings these themes to life through practical workshops, blending craft practices with knowledge transmission. For the exhibition, a series of workshops take place, focusing on specific techniques and traditions.
BACKROOM
Soma: Tobias Maria Koch
Tobias Maria Koch, a Basel and Turin-based composer and sound artist, works across performance, visual arts, film, and music. His site-specific practice explores the hidden auditory connections between space and sound, emphasising the physical environment in which the work occurs.
Conceived as a vibrating listening platform and the result of curator Kristina Grigorjeva’s research, “Soma” explores the emancipatory potential of sound and listening as a transformative social practice. It invites collective listening, lingering, and vibration, from the somatic to the social body.
