Art Courts
Art in the courts is an exhibition that is spread out in various courtyards and in the gardens of eight buildings of the city of Turin.
The temporary placement of these works wants to emphasize the artists that created them but also to bring popularity to the courts often a little ‘overlooked by locals and tourists. This is an exhibition designed to give maximum emphasis to the old city centre from a new perspective combining the courts baroque in dialogue with modern art.
The installations have been carried out by 27 young artists, Italians and not, taking into account the characteristics of the place they occupy becoming integral part of it.
A beautiful setting has been created with the courts, but also with the natural surroundings, such as in the courtyard of Palazzo Cisterna deliberately left fallow. For example, here the sculptures seem as if they were placed at random, in truth they are located in close relationship with the now occupied spaces of the garden, the characteristics of the vegetation and existing architectural elements.
In this garden the artwork L’albero Cardiaco of Paolo Grassino, commissioned by the Foundation, is an opera with an aluminium structure which is the only piece of artwork which will remain even after the end of the exhibition. This piece finds it’s permanent home in the garden.
