Crossing

Palazzo Madama, Palazzo Madama, Piazza Castello, Turin, Metropolitan City of Turin, Italy

Palazzo Madama presents “Crossing”, an exhibition curated by Cristina Beltrami featuring four artists from diverse backgrounds, who engage with the spaces and extensive collection of the museum.
The exhibition begins with sculptures by Frédérique Nalbandian atop the Juvarra staircase, paying homage to the building’s Roman foundation. Inside, the ceramics room showcases large vases by RunoB, a young artist of Chinese origin, created during his recent residency in Nove (Vicenza) and dedicated to the museum’s ceramic collection.
Marta Sforni contributes a nearly two-meter round piece specifically for “Crossing”, paying tribute to the monumental 1928 chandelier by Fratelli Toso in the glass room while reflecting her ongoing artistic exploration.
Finally, the Juvarra veranda features a significant installation by Giuseppe Lo Cascio, a young Palermo artist focused on themes of memory and everyday life through innovative uses of objects.
“Crossing” offers a fresh perspective on Palazzo Madama’s collection, inviting visitors to engage with the artworks in unexpected ways. Each encounter is accompanied by detailed captions explaining the significance of the artist and their work, along with a QR code for further exploration of critical texts and images.
