Giovanni Termini: La forma del non detto
Concived for Museo Ettore Fico's exhibition series "Caveau", Giovanni Termini presents three site-specific installations called Saturnia, Grata and Starter.
The first geometric ‘form’ used by Termini is modular and can be assembled in different configurations. The artist has arranged it into a table-like structure with a large central void, around which a dinner for twelve has been set, with twenty-four deep plates stacked in pairs, as though preserving the warmth of some food they once contained.
The second ‘form’ consists of a trestle and metal grilles, superimposed and interlocked in a sadistic embrace and a contemplative dialogue, in which iron and wood coexist symbiotically. The third ‘form’ comprises neon lights and ceiling fixtures which, like darting fish with silvery, gleaming and reflective scales, stranded by an unusually long wave, have been left to languish in the empty space of the gallery.
