Laura Grisi: Film Works, 1968–1972
The exhibition presents the filmography of the recently deceased artist Laura Grisi. The three films presented, Wind Speed 40 Knots (1968), The Measuring of Time (1969) and From One to Four Pebbles (1972), represent her entire filmography and were realised over a five-year period.
Her interest was mainly driven by the study of the immaterial forces which act upon nature which she had the chance to investigate whilst travelling with her husband (Italian writer Folco Quilici) during the 60s. She explored little-known lands and tribal cultures from every corner of the world. All these elements are expressed in her practice, creating both environmental and immersive works.
The exhibition is hosted in the VideotecaGAM, alongside books and documents.
