Rachel Rose (b. New York, 1986), winner of the 2014 illy Present Future Prize with the work A Minute Ago (2014), is presenting a new video installation at Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea. It is curated by Marianna Vecellio and was specially conceived for one of the museum’s great halls.
Rose is one of today’s most promising artists. Through the use of new media such as digital images, sound and its distortions, modern editing techniques and elaborate postproduction work, she creates complex video installations that – with catastrophic scenarios and atmospheres shifting between the paranoid and the metaphysical – investigate the malaise of the contemporary being.
