Related Things Unrelated Things Related…

On Sunday, 5th November Barriera inaugurates “Related Things Unrelated Things Related...” by Jonathan Monk and Ariel Schlesinger.

This show starts with the three dots that end the title — generally these are used as a form of continuation and this particular instance that it certainly the case. The dots only add to the circular unending nature of the title and perhaps even the show. The artists decided not to consult each other when working towards this exhibition and would only actually see each others works when the installation commences. The hope is that connections might be found and even if there aren’t any obvious references the unrelated will be encouraged or forced to relate when placed side by side…
