Stories We Carry
Associazione Barriera invites eastcontemporary to present the group exhibition “Stories we carry” during the next edition of Colazione a Barriera.
Storytelling is an intrinsic part of human culture, shaping identities, histories, and collective memories. “Stories we carry” brings together works by Andrius Arutiunian, Nikita Kadan, Aziza Kadyri, Mila Panić, Ala Savashevich, Slavs and Tatars, and Anastasia Sosunova to explore contemporary practices rooted in narrative. Through installations, sculptures, and multimedia works, the exhibition reflects on how stories are preserved, fragmented, and reimagined across time and space, weaving together themes of oral histories and folklore, language and translation, memory and identity, and the politics of representation.
Conceived as the culmination of the last few years of programming at eastcontemporary, the exhibition reflects the gallery’s mission to foster cross-cultural dialogue and to champion emerging and established voices, particularly from Central and Eastern Europe and other regions shaped by the legacy of the former Soviet Union.
