Zheng Bo: Weed Party III – Il Partito delle Erbacce

The first Italian solo show for Chinese artist Zheng Bo will inaugurate the exhibition season at PAV, Turin, dedicated to the topic of the relation between art and ecology in the Asian continent. “Weed Party” is the third appointment of an ongoing exhibiting project by the artist, in which he tries to imagine a new world where human and extra-human species coexist without distinctions. Zhen Bo, in particular, compares the uncontrollable raise of spontaneous political movements and the unstoppable growth of parasitic species of plants. At the centre of the PAV exhibition, he develops the installation “After Science Garden”, designed specifically for the PAV’s greenhouse and in dialogue with local researchers. The artist often appeals in his works to the comparison with plants, to address social and political issues and spread movements of resilience.
