98th “Collettiva Giovani” Recipient Artists

The two closing exhibition of this years in the two venues of Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa are the result of the Foundation efforts in supporting Trivento young artists’ education and growth.

In the gallery of Palazzetto Tito is on view the exhibition of 98th Collettiva Giovani‘s winning artists Miriam Secco, Alberto Sinigaglia and The Cool Couple, after an year of work.

Miriam Secco’s installation, in the entrance room, is a more complex version of the winning artwork “Savage mind”, taken from the famous book by Claude Lévi-Strauss.
This work stems from the observation of the drawings of a three-year-old girl, that fully express the explosion of a thought in its savage stage, preceding a polite and logical-rational way of thinking. To express the energy and freedom of these drawings the artist built silk kite models trained to fly through the use of fans, creating utopian shapes.

Alberto Sinigaglia presents two different projects: “Big Sky Hunting”, a photographic project which starting from the astronomical depiction investigates the potentialities and the limits of the photographic medium and of the representation. The second project is “Microwave City”, a series of photographies taken in a travel in Nevada, city emblem of the commercialization of words, bodies and space.

The artistic duo The Cool Couple revisited “A Kind of Display”, installation presented at the Festival of Arles. “A Kind of Display” is a growing collection of beard representations, which are confronted and processed in order to address a spectrum of social issues, some directly political in motive, some vaguely utopian and some chronicling specific historical events.
