Adrian Ghenie: The Battle Between Carnival and Feast

Palazzo Cini, Campo S. Vio, 864, Venice, Italy

The second floor of Palazzo Cini, Venice, hosts the solo exhibition dedicated to Adrian Ghenie. Organised in collaboration with the Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac (London, Paris, Salzburg), the show features around ten new  paintings, specifically created for the occasion by the artist. Ghenie portrays significant personalities who have left a permanent mark on the course of the history of the world, experimenting with colour and strong physical connotations. The exhibition’s title is inspired by by Dutch painter Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s “Battle between Carnival and Lent”, but it also refers to the Venetian Carnival.
