Foundation Bevilacqua La Masa presents Andrey Esionov exhibition at Gallery of Piazza San Marco. Andrey Esionov is one of the greatest exponents of the post-Soviet visionary neorealism movement. The artist draws inspiration from political upheavals which he personally experienced. His preferred technique is watercolor on paper, which he reinterprets in a contemporary context, engaging in dialogue with academic tradition and photographic language. His works can be found in the collections of several museums: Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA, Moscow), State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), Samara Art Museum (Samara), State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan (Kazan’), State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan (Tashkent); Academy of Drawing Arts of Florence.
