Anish Kapoor
During the 59th Venice International Art Biennale, Anish Kapoor is the first British artist hosted by Gallerie dell’Accademia.
The Gallerie dell’Accademia di Venezia presents their first major exhibition by Anish Kapoor.
The exhibition, postponed from 2021 because of the pandemic, takes place during the 59th Venice International Art Biennale and is curated by art historian Taco Dibbits, General Director of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
Kapoor is the first British artist to be hosted by Gallerie dell’Accademia and the museum celebrates him in great style, with a retrospective exhibition that gathers together all the most important moments in his career. Additionally, groundbreaking new works created using carbon nanotechnology are on view for the very first time.
Kapoor’s research is centred on sculptural works that investigate the concept of “non-object”, or rather the liminal spaces situated between physicality and immateriality, presence and absence.
The exhibition continues at Palazzo Manfrin where the Anisk Kapoor Foundation is.
