Artivism: The Atrocity Prevention Pavilion
Palazzo Dandolo, San Polo 2879
Artivism introduces visitors to the realities of mass atrocity and the ways in which the arts have been used as a mechanism for preventing and responding to systematic violence. Featuring works from artists and activist collectives from across the globe, the exhibition invites visitors to learn about the essential role played by the arts as a grassroots tool for social transformation and deterrence of future atrocities. Artivism also invites visitors to become agents for chance by highlighting each individual’s unique capacity to contribute to peace. Through Artivism, the art we share will create a global community of activists who will prevent new atrocities.
