Ceal Floyer: Unfinished
Berggruen Arts & Culture presents “Unfinished”, a major exhibition of works by Ceal Floyer at Palazzo Diedo. Curated by Ann Gallagher and Jonathan Watkins, the exhibition marks one of the first major presentations of Floyer’s work following her death in December 2025.
Bringing together video, photography, sound, readymades and sculptural works, the exhibition highlights Floyer’s conceptual practice, shaped by subtle shifts in perception, quiet humour and the reconfiguration of everyday objects and familiar situations. Through puns, visual double-takes and unexpected juxtapositions, the works examine the absurdity and possibility embedded in ordinary life.
The exhibition takes its title from “Unfinished” (1995), a looped video of someone rolling their thumbs, first shown in the British Council’s exhibition General Release at the 1995 Venice Biennale.
