Dialoghi Inediti tra Vetro e Profumo / Unprecedented Dialogues Between Glass and Perfume
This modular, multi-faceted exhibition highlights the intense, centuries-old relationship that links the craftsmanship and artistic excellence of Venetian Murano glass with perfume.
The creation of value at the heart of this initiative can be traced to the structure of the project itself, in which during the month between 15 March and 15 April, twelve Murano master glassmakers will create twelve unique masterpieces, each assisted by one of twelve designers – six young talents selected from among the best at the most important design schools on the island, such as the IED and the IUAV, and six designers already working in the specialist field of perfumery and bottle design. In the next phase, twelve perfumers will create twelve exclusive fragrances to complement the bottles, and through their olfactory characteristics, narrate the history of the sectors of artistic production that identify Venice today.
Several events and parallel activities are to crown this initiative: an inaugural event in the form of a prestigious conference on the role of applied arts in the economy and culture of Venice, and to conclude the exhibition, a final auction of the twelve bottles, whose proceeds will be donated to the Palazzo Mocenigo Museum.
