Ecocore by Alessandro Bava: Stones of Venice
Ahead of the release of the upcoming ECOCORE IV G( )D issue, a publication dedicated to ecology, Spazio Ridotto presents the exhibition Stones of Venice. The exhibition, curated by Gloria Maria Cappelletti and Fabrizio Meris, is conceived as a sound and visual exploration into ecology in the digital age and will transform Spazio Ridotto into a mosaic of video content by filmmakers, artists, video game makers and architects. These works have been selected by architect and artist Alessandro Bava, Editor of Ecocore, as a means of ecological expression through others’ artistic practice.
The exhibition Stones of Venice, titled after John Ruskin’s treatise on Venetian art and architecture, will include video works by Music for Your Plants, Block-Hood, Joe Hamilton, FundMyTravel and Uncharted, all of which touch on the identity of ecology from an artistic standpoint. This parallels the publication of ECOCORE IV G( )D issue whose implementation is made possible the support of the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts in Chicago.
