Ferdinando Scianna: Journey Story Memory

The Berggruen Institute Europe – Casa dei Tre Oci, Fondamenta delle Zitelle 43, Isola della Giudecca, Venice, Italy

Born in Sicily in 1943, Ferdinando Scianna is a significant figure in the panorama of contemporary international photography. Casa dei Tre Oci dedicates to the artist a retrospective curated by Denis Curti, Paola Bergna, and Alberto Bianda covering over fifty years of his career, through 180 works in black and white.
The first Italian to be part of the Magnum agency, Scianna started his career in the 1960s capturing the culture and traditions of his native Sicily, and tackling different issues in the constant search for a form in the chaos of life.
