Gerard Rancinan & Caroline Gaudriault: Revolution

Bel Air Fine Art Guggenheim pop-up gallery, Dorsoduro 686

For the occasion of the opening of its pop-up gallery, which will be just in front of the Guggenheim Museum, Bel-Air Fine Art Venice presents a show by the renowned photographer Gerard Rancinan & the writer Caroline Gaudriault.

“Revolution” is an artistic project that will be focused on the topic of the current social revolutions – from the conflicts in the big banlieu to the riots against the institutions. The show questions us on the power games of our society, analyzing its behaviors and beliefs. For the occasion the artist will shock the audience with an outstanding happening during the Biennale’s openings. One of Rancinan’s most iconic photo – printed on a monumental canvas of 9 x 15 metres – will be revealed in a public performance in the heart of Venice. “Radeau” is a contemporary vision of the famous “The Raft of the Medusa” by Théodore Géricault, to raise awareness on the topic of immigration.

Attention to details and characters from a fantastic and contemporary mythology compose the fil rouge linking the artist with the city now hosting the show about Jheronimus Bosch.
