Henri Beaufour, Chiara Calore: Tutte le creature abitano il confine

The two-artist exhibition, curated by Luca Berta and Francesca Giubilei, explores the thresholds of identity, form and otherness, turning the interruption caused by Beaufour’s death into an unexpected and powerful renewal of artistic dialogue. It takes the form of a profound visual and conceptual conversation between two artists of different generations (Beaufour, 1965–2025; Calore, 1994).

Although their artistic languages differ in medium and form, they both investigate subjects marked by a fundamental instability. Their figures exist in a state of perpetual transformation, suspended between the human and the animal, the earthly and the otherworldly, the everyday and the mythological.

Visitors are invited into a world where familiar distinctions begin to blur, giving way to an ambiguous space between categories. The meticulously rendered figures of Chiara Calore emerge from a teeming multitude of beings, objects and small events that animate her painted surfaces; meanwhile, the forms sculpted by Henri Beaufour appear as unstable surfaces, zones of transmission in which inner unrest is reflected in the primordial creative gesture of the imprint.
