Host P. Horst: La Geometria della Grazia

The retrospective “Horst P. Horst. La geometria della grazia” is dedicated to one of the masters of 20th-century photography. Curated by Anne Morin in collaboration with Denis Curti, the exhibition offers an extensive contemporary re-reading of his work, looking beyond the iconic fashion photography that brought him fame in the pages of “Vogue”.

Through over 300 works, including colour photographs, vintage prints, drawings, and previously unpublished documents, the exhibition illustrates the complexity of an author who transformed images into architectures of form and light. Influenced by the Bauhaus and classicism, Horst developed a visual language based on harmony, proportion, and balance. In addition to fashion photography, the display features intense portraits and refined still lifes where compositional rigour and sensuality coexist. The exhibition explores the modernity of his gaze and the relevance of a timeless aesthetic characterised by a rigorous construction of photographic space.
