Huong Dodinh: Ascension
Museo Correr presents a site-specific installation by Huong Dodinh, who has been isolating for five decades creating unique paintings without ever sharing them publicly.
During the 59th Venice Biennale, the Museo Correr presents a site-specific installation by the Vietnamese artist Huong Dodinh. “Ascension” comprises 14 painting of three meter length, organised on a triangular scheme that revolves around the wood sculpture of the Madonna della Misericordia, dated to the XV century. Starting from May 1968, Huong spent five decades in isolation from the world, creating unique paintings without ever sharing them publicly. Today she is in Venice to realise this unmissable site-specific installation at Museo Correr.
Huong Dodinh‘s artworks are pure and spiritual. Huong‘s artistic path was first inspired by the beauty and the majesty of snowy landscapes as a student at the private college of Rambouillet, where she studied. The site-specific installation set an intimate dialogue with the spaces of Museo Correr and its artworks, creating a mystical atmosphere that envelops the viewer.
