In Laguna

A group exhibition bringing together works by multiple artists based in the city of Venice.

Hotel Il Palazzo Experimental, Fondamenta Zattere AI Ponte Lungo 1411, Venice, Italy

Blending together the various practices of paradigm-shifting emerging talents with more established artists this show aims to highlight the extremely dynamic and eclectic art production of Venice, that might not be as “serenissime” as it perhaps first seems. Thinking of an optimistic future for the lagoon, in reference to the Venice Architecture Biennale and its theme “The laboratory of the future” each artist presents an artwork which corresponds to their own and personal vision of the city, giving in this sense a global view of what is and can be done, hoped for and, more interestingly, yet to be imagined.

The idea, hence, is to create an immersive situation by mobilising different parts of Palazzo Experimental, that will organically embraces the atmosphere of the exhibition in its totality, and vice versa, not unlike the lagoon and the islands that structure it, remaining afloat in a sea of reciprocity. However, more than a show about Venice and for Venice, In Laguna, also mirrors the solidarity that animates the artistic and cultural scene of the city… Artists, architects, curators, researchers, etc. seem to be all connected, assisting and encouraging one another in their mutual and personal endeavors, showing genuine enthusiasm for each other’s practice and work. This exhibition aims in this sense to understand and appreciate the origin of this bond, and bring to light the spirit of camaraderie within this atemporal community.
