Jennifer West: Stitched Cosmos
Through a new site-specific installation, Jennifer West celebrates the often overlooked yet fundamental work of a group of women scientists known as the Harvard Astronomical Computers, reclaiming the role of scientific research at a time when it appears increasingly underfunded and under pressure.
Like an alien presence, “Stitched Cosmos” inhabits the ground floor of Ca’ Foscari University’s headquarters, intertwining with student life while transforming the space into a psychedelic environment for observing the cosmos.

“Stitched Cosmos” ultimately turns Ca’ Foscari University into a field of tension and convergence between opposites: analogue and digital, drawing and photography, art and science, manual labour and theory. What emerges is a vision of knowledge that dissolves disciplinary boundaries in order to engage with the outer limits of the known universe.
