Jim Shaw and Marnie Weber
Zuecca Projects and Simon Lee Gallery present a dream-like uncanny exhibition that unfolds the mysteries of our subconscious and imagination.
On the occasion of the 59th Venice Biennale “The Milk of Dreams“, titled after a children’s book by the surrealist artist Leonora Carrington, Simon Lee Gallery and Zuecca Projects present that matches the theme of Biennale Arte, presenting two artists that draw from the subconscious as their source of artistic creativity.
Jim Shaw and Marnie Weber, whose works are on view at Squero Castello in Venice, Italy, from April 20 to July 24, 2022, span a wide range of artistic media and visual imagery, from the detritus of American culture to the surreal worlds of fantasy and folklore. They both transform the personal, the commonplace and the uncanny into dream-like narratives and magical worlds that unfold the mysteries of our subconscious and imagination.
