Jimmy Kitheka: Falena From Nairobi

Concurrently with the 18th Biennale of Architecture in Venice, AKKA Project presents a solo show by the Kenyan emerging artist Jimmy Kitheka, exhibiting his latest works as a result of Jimmy’s residency in Italy, between Venice and Macerata, in 2022.

Born in 1993 in Nairobi, Kenya, Jimmy is an impressionistic artist captivated by landscapes and oneiric scenarios; through shadows and blur effects, the artist evokes a sense of nostalgia. His work allows us to travel back in time to stories that retrace life in Nairobi in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Jimmy is a young artist with a promising future, strongly building his reputation as the Kenyan Edward Hopper.
