Liv Schulman: An International Subconscious Awareness of Capitalism
The solo presentation by Liv Schulman presents both former and never before seen pieces of works by the Argentinian artist
A plus A gallery hosts the solo exhibition by the Argentinian artist Liv Schulman, inaugurating the exhibiting season of the space. “An international subconscious awareness of capitalism” is the first Italian monographic display by the artist who won the Prix Fondation d’entreprise Ricard in 2018.
Her video works and performances see as protagonists professional and amateur actors openly engaging viewers through dialogues and written words while strolling around in crowded cities or abandoned villages.
The pieces reflect on the effects of both material and immaterial economies addressing topics such as post-colonialism, politics, sexuality, psychology, and more, trying to propose at the same time possible strategies of surviving.
The exhibition features both former and never before seen pieces of works, such as “Le Goubernement” retracing the role of notable women in the twentieth century over 70 years of history.
