Luca Rento: Prima che tutto svanisca
The exhibition, curated by Alfredo Cramerotti, brings together a selection of works created over the course of twenty-five years, essences of films that radically reveal something that concerns us all: our being in the world, our relationship with time, with what changes and what is inevitably destined to disappear. Rento recognises the necessary moment and celebrates it. The moving image, kept alive, is thus presented to the public as an act of resistance against disappearance, offering responses that crystallise the stages of one’s earthly journey into individual moments.
Behind each work, one senses the presence of someone grappling with reality, confronting the moment directly, neither turning away from disappearance nor allowing himself to be deceived by fantasy. In his self-portraits, Rento records the shifting moods and inner turmoil that pass through him, seeking in the image a deeper understanding of his own existence.
The exhibition stems from the awareness that nothing lasts forever and from the fascination of witnessing life as it unfolds.
