Maggie Hall: Love You to Death

Installed across Palazzo Priuli Bon and Domus Civica, Maggie Hall’s Love You to Death is a solo exhibition of new work by Maggie Hall. At first glance, seductively legible with familiar iconographies drawn from the vernacular of mid-century America, but look longer, and the subjects and surface begin to fracture. Figures are placed within disruptive narratives, composed of a series of tiny dots placed by hand in only four colours: yellow, magenta, cyan, and black, each applied with pressure and precision to resolve into scenes. What initially reads as effortless reveals itself as unsettling and obsessive story telling.
