Marcin Gierat: Man in the Glass

Presented by Zuecca Projects, the exhibition “Man in the Glass” is dedicated to the Polish artist Marcin Gierat. In collaboration with a selection of historical and prestigious furnaces from Murano – Barovier&Toso, NasonMoretti, Schiavon Art Team – Gierat created a series of portraits of masters artisans, made with the wet-collodion process first, and impressed on glass plates made by the portrayed artisans after. The resulting works are unique pieces: each one of the furnaces created its exclusive plates, with their unique characteristics and colours, in a celebration of the artisanal creation.
Curated by Marica Denora and Alessandro Possati, the exhibition also features a short film made by Illumina Film and directed by Possati and GIerat, documenting the daily life of the masters.
