Marco Maria Zanin: Strati di tempo nella Chiesa di Sant’Agnese
The pictures on view document the historical stratification in the Church of Saint Agnes in Padua
Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice hosts a solo exhibition dedicated to Marco Maria Zanin, artist and researcher working mainly with photography as a medium of expression. His works explore the transformations caused by the passing of time, and the research of a new path towards the future valorising the traces of history.
Invited by the Fondazione Alberto Peruzzo, Zanin photographed the spaces of the deconsecrated Saint Agnes Church in Padua, and the historical stratification which the building went through over the years. The church, now the home of the foundation, has been facing renovation works for years and soon will open to the public.
The exhibition “Strati di tempo nella Chiesa di Sant’Agnese” (Layers of Time at the Saint Agnes Church) features thirteen large and medium-format pictures by the artist, documenting the history of the building.
