Mario De Biasi. Photographs 1947-2003
The retrospective gathers 256 photographs representative of De Biasi's career
The exhibition “Mario Biasi. Fotografie 1947 – 2003” is a major retrospective at Casa dei Tre Oci, Venice, dedicated to one of the greatest Italian photographers. The exhibition results from accurate research and selection from the Archivio Mario De Biasi, to celebrate De Biasi’s talent and all the facets of his photographic work.
On view 216 photographs, most of them never seen before, from De Biasi’s beginnings and collaboration with magazine “Epoca” to the most recent images, ordered in ten thematic groups. Among the highlights, the series depicting the Italian situation in the 1950s, influenced by the consequences of war, and the sequence “Gli Italiani si voltano” (1954), here shown for the first time in its complete version.
Besides the photographs, other materials will be shown, including telegrams, books, original issues of the magazine Epoca, notebooks, and more.
