Matteo Fato: Somersault

Galleria Michela Rizzo presents “Somersault”, a solo exhibition curated by Alfredo Cramerotti featuring the work of the artist Matteo Fato. The artist’s research is a focused analysis of the relationship between “image” and “word”, the moment just before the mark become a recognizable language.

A representative “equilibrium” in which the pure “mark” is domesticated and disciplined so as to find its place on the limit of reality. Until now, his research has developed through drawing and video, however, lately he has begun to work with material such as wood and paper, which he previously only considered for simple supports or structures, but that have now become a language in and of themselves, finding expression into a site-specific projectuality.
