Maurizio Donzelli: L’insieme vuoto

Marignana Arte presents Maurizio Donzelli‘s second solo exhibition, which reflects on oxymoronic concepts such as full/empty, presence/absence, finite/infinite, visible/invisible. The exhibition, curated by Gabriele Salvaterra, features a series of new works that deepen and update his artistic research.

“Insieme vuoto” literally means “empty set”, a concept conceived by the philosopher and art critic Federico Ferrari to address a paradoxical quality of the work of art. The exhibition features a new body of work entitled “Reds“, in which the artists use essential forms and curves with primary colours and black and white. These curvilinear shapes recall the inner landscape of vascular circuits but also roots and abstract trajectories.

Additionally, the exhibition presents a tapestry that shows Donzelli’s attention to applied arts as well as a sculptural work from the series “Aleph“.
