Natalia Mejía Murillo: Mistranslation

“Mistranslation” is the project selected for the residency organised by EXCLAMA and Panorama in Venice. Curated by Matheew Carrillo M., the exhibition presents the work of Colombian artist Natalia Mejía Murillo, winner of the open call. Her research explores themes of territory, memory, and materiality, connecting different geographical contexts through shared visual and symbolic languages. The artist employs a slow, process-based approach, which stands in contrast to the accelerated production dynamics often associated with contemporary residencies. In this work, the city is observed as an ever-evolving organism, shaped by its structural fragility and ongoing processes of conservation.
