Nilufar at Venice Nicelli private airport

On the occasion of the inauguration of the Biennale Arte 2022, Nilufar Gallery lands on the renowned – cinematographic – island of the Lido di Venezia to stage two exhibitions at the small Giovanni Nicelli private airport.

Nina Yashar, founder of the Nilufar Gallery, has curated an ad hoc set-up to bring her pioneering taste to Venice: a balanced mix of historical and contemporary design that reflects the timeless character of artistic expression. Works by great masters such as Gio Ponti, Franco Albini, Ignazio Moncada, BBPR, Pietro Consagra, Angelo Lelii and Joaquim Tenreiro, dialogue with contemporary artefacts by creatives such as Martino Gamper, Bethan Laura Wood and Analogia Project.

Nilufar is also organising “Constructed Realities: Life Beyond Borders“, Sin Ying Cassandra Ho‘s first solo exhibition in Europe, co-curated by Nina Yashar and ArtHub and held at Spazio Esso, the former petrol station at the airport.

The multicultural background and at the same time the strong attachment to Chinese identity inspire Sin Ying Cassandra Ho‘s artistic production: the ceramic works combine the different influences in a harmonious and balanced narrative. The mix of digital and analogue techniques, together with the fragmentation of her work, generates a visual distortion that creates a shifting dimension, characterised by a cubist influence.
