Fiedler O Mastrangelo: non – Solo

The solo exhibition “non – Solo” presents the painting practice of the artistic duo Fiedler & Mastrangelo. The project explores a radical enquiry into the generative force of words in an era where language is often reduced to algorithmic logic. The artists’ work seeks to return the word to its physical form, positing that the origin of language lies in creation rather than potentially deceptive communication.

The creative process is grounded in a rigorous linguistic and conceptual research that precedes the selection of each word. This internal logic remains invisible; the word emerges as an erupting sound with a pre-existing but undeclared meaning. The resulting artworks are born in the fracture between intentionality and listening, where the mark on the canvas records the collision between secret histories and the immediate vibration of the spoken word. Monochromatic backgrounds in intense blues, compact greens, and dense reds define the primordial territory where these words take shape. Polysemy serves as a structural principle, where each word activates a plurality of memories and associations that the painterly gesture re-launches without exhausting, embracing complexity as a form of truth.
