Personal Structures: Beyond Boundaries – Palazzo Bembo

Palazzo Bembo is one of the historic venues hosting the seventh edition of Personal Structures, the biennial art exhibition organized by the European Cultural Centre (ECC) in Venice.

This year’s theme, “Beyond Boundaries“, explores the complexities of global migration, national identities, and the interconnectedness of contemporary society.

Palazzo Bembo features several exhibitions, including a site-specific installation, “Rroma Lepanto”, focusing on the contemporary art of the Sinti and Roma communities curated by the Foundation Kai Dikhas.

Additionally, intimate works such as Elizabeth Heyert’s photographs on loss and grieving, and the exploration of female identity and sexuality in “Unapologetic WomXn” curated by Destinee Ross-Sutton, are displayed.

Photographer Sandra Cattaneo Adorno delves into different layers of the visible and invisible world in her exhibition “Ten Years”, using the inverted image to explore negative space in a symbolic way.

These exhibits create a diverse artistic narrative that challenges conventional boundaries and invites contemplation of global issues.
