Piranesi Roma Basilico

The exhibition ‘Piranesi Roma Basilico’ opens to the public at Palazzo Cini, curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, with the collaboration of the Gabriele Basilico Archive.

The Fondazione Giorgio Cini pays homage to the great Venetian artist Giambattista Piranesi on the third centenary of his birth and to the genius of Gabriele Basilico, comparing the views of ancient Rome with Piranesi’s engravings and that of a contemporary one with Basilico’s sublime photography. There are also 12, never before seen, images on display.
