Rosanna Rossi: Xilografie e un dipinto
Within the plural and complex landscape of postwar Italian art, Rosanna Rossi (Cagliari, 1937) stands out as a rigorous and coherent figure, whose practice has spanned more than sixty years while remaining absolutely faithful to her own vision and method. Her work has developed quietly yet continuously, outside of trends or compromise, within a peripheral context such as Sardinia – which, precisely because of this liminal position, has become an active crossroads of international languages, tensions, and artistic research.
The works presented in the gallery belong to a single body of large-scale woodcuts, created using an experimental technique on Japanese paper, and are complemented by a painting made using impressions of rubber kitchen gloves.
